Save the date for the launch of
LIMMUD NZ 2014!

12th June 2014 at 6.30pm

at Beth Shalom, 180 Manukau Road, Epsom

We are excited to announce that international speaker Gil Hoffman will be presenting at the Launch of LIMMUD NZ 2014.

Gil is known as “the most optimistic man in Israel!” He is the chief political correspondent and analyst for The Jerusalem Post. Gil has interviewed every major figure across the Israeli political spectrum, has been interviewed by top media representatives on six continents and is a regular analyst on CNN, Al-Jazeera and other news outlets. His writing and TV appearances provide a behind-the-scenes look at the intrigue and humour in the Israeli political arena.

In true LIMMUD style you will also have the choice of other sessions to attend including:

Rabbi Brent Gutman who will share highlights from his thesis on the influential Lithuanian philosopher Emmanuel Lévinas. Lévinas’ work is based on the ethics of the “Other” or, in his own terms, on “ethics as first philosophy”. For Lévinas, the “Other” is not knowable and cannot be made into an object of the self, as is done by traditional metaphysics.

Shifra & Yair and Roni & Guy, our Israeli shlichim will show a documentary on Jewish identity in Israel and lead a discussion from the perspectives of secular and religious Israelis.

At the Launch you will have the opportunity to register online for LIMMUD NZ 2014 Celebration of Jewish Learning and Culture to be held on 16-17 August.

Bring cash, cheque or credit card to register on the night and benefit from our early bird special!

Suggested Koha of $10.  Light refreshments will be provided.
