LIMMUD NZ 2016 officially starts at lunchtime on Saturday 27 August – but you can get a head start on the weekend by being involved in a LIMMUD Shabbat dinner on Friday night (26 August 2016).
In previous years we have invited international presenters and out-of-towners to Shabbat dinners hosted by LIMMUD volunteers. This year we are looking to make LIMMUD Shabbat dinner part of the LIMMUD experience for everyone.
As well as being super fun, this ties into our LIMMUD values of COMMUNITY and PARTICIPATION.
To do this, we need volunteers to host the dinners.
Would you be willing to host a couple or more extra guests at your Friday night dinner?
LIMMUD also has values of facilitating each individual’s religious observance and of mutual respect. To do this we will match dinner guests up with appropriate levels of observance and Kashrut.
Join us at 6.30pm on Sat 18th June to launch LIMMUD NZ 2016 with a special Taste of Limmud event!
Not only will we have a selection of presentations for you to enjoy but joining us this year for a special guest appearance is standup comedian, Benji Lovitt, all the way from Israel!
Since making aliyah in 2006, comedian Benji Lovitt has performed for audiences around the world. His perspectives on life in Israel have been featured on Israeli television and radio and in publications such as USA Today, Time Magazine, Huffington Post, the Times of Israel, and more.
Benji will be performing at this special Taste of Limmud marking the launch of LIMMUD NZ 2016.
So mark your calendar, save the date, 18th June, and look out for further details, coming soon.
We look forward to seeing you there!
