Engage with two of Israel’s leading journalists from opposite sides of the political spectrum to share with us their views “for the sake of Heaven”.
Allison Kaplan Sommer has been a journalist at Haaretz since 2012. She is the former Washington DC bureau chief for the Jerusalem Post, and has written for the New Republic and Politico. She won a 2016 Bnei Brith World Center Award and the 2017 Simon Rockower award for excellence in covering Zionism, Aliyah and Israel. Originally from Rhode Island, she made aliya in 1993, and lives in Ra’anana with her husband and children.
Yair Rosenberg is a senior writer at Tablet Magazine, where he covers the intersection of politics, culture, and religion. His work has also appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, and The Guardian, and his writings have received awards from the Religion Newswriters Association and the Harvard Center for Jewish Studies. In his spare time, he creates bots that troll anti-Semites on Twitter.
Yair and Allison will be interviewed together and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. Following a break, and a chance to sign up for LIMMUD NZ 2018 at earlybird prices, they will present in parallel sessions for 40 minutes.
Thanks to each and every participant and volunteer for making this year’s LIMMUD such a fantastic success and a wonderful experience of learning, laughter and inspiration.
A huge special thanks to all of the presenters, volunteers, caterers, Shuk stallholders, sponsors, security team, Dio school and all our schleppers, hosts and helpers as well as the tirelessly hard working trustees and leads committee members. LIMMUD NZ is a volunteer-run event and would not be at all possible without your contributions.
